The apps

PodLapse for Mac and PodLapse Remote collect no data. There is no account to create, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is reported back to us. We have no way of knowing that you have installed or used either app.

Your settings — display, colours, size, duration, timecode options — are stored on your own device and never leave it.

The local network permission

PodLapse Remote asks for permission to find devices on your local network. This is the only permission either app requests, and it is used for exactly one thing: discovering a Mac running PodLapse on the same Wi-Fi so the remote can control it.

That connection is directly between your own devices. It does not pass through our servers, because there are no servers. Nothing about your show, your timings or your network is transmitted to us or to anyone else.

If you decline the permission, the remote simply won't find your Mac. Nothing else in the app changes.

What the apps do not do

This website

The waitlist

If you enter your email address in the waitlist form, we store that email address so we can tell you when there is a build worth trying. We ask for nothing else and we store nothing else.

Waitlist addresses are held by Resend, our email provider, who process them on our behalf. We do not sell, rent or share the list, and we do not use it for anything other than telling you about PodLapse.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email jack@happyjack.media at any time and ask to be removed, or ask what we hold — we'll delete it and confirm.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Vercel, who keep standard server logs — the sort every web host keeps, including IP addresses — for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify or profile visitors, and we have not added any analytics product to this site.

This site sets no cookies.

Children

PodLapse is a professional production tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal data an organisation holds about you. For PodLapse that only ever amounts to a waitlist email address. Email jack@happyjack.media and we'll action it — there is no form and no process to work through.

Changes

If PodLapse ever begins collecting anything, this page will be updated before that ships, and the date at the top will change. We won't quietly broaden it.
